- Due to National Forest and Monument closures in New Mexico and remaining uncertainties about access to some of our project sites, we have made adjustments to the first two weeks of Geo660A. A revised syllabus will be circulated soon. In the meantime you can check the updated Addresses and Calendar pages. The route map does not show revisions.

- It is absolutely essential that you bring your vaccination card or photo of it. If you are not vaccinated it is essential you have the ability to show a negative test within the 72 hrs prior to arrival at a few places we stay. So, you must have some rapid Covid self tests with you, as indicated on the gear list. As mentioned during the meeting, these are available free through UT testing sites and at some US post offices.

- What about Smartphone Apps for field camp? As indicated on the gear list, you will need a geologic compass App installed on your phone - most of you already installed FieldMove Clino last year for Geo420k and we will use it again this summer. Another option, now available for both Android (new) and iOS is Stereonet Mobile. Another valuable App for a traveling field camp like ours is RockD - check it out and learn why! I also find the mobile version of Google Earth (iOS and Android) and Google Maps useful. For those willing to take a deep dive, StraboSpot Mobile contains a powerful set of tools to collect field data.
