HHow to prepare Right-hand Rule Strike and Dip data for export to KML

Problem: Right hand-rule strike and dip point files exported to KML using the ArcGIS 10.0 ArcToolbox tool "Feature to KML" do not retain their proper orientation when displayed in Google Earth.  This is because the KML reference frame is not a geographic one -e.g. a true strike azimuth of 0 degrees displays as a KML azimuth of 270 degrees.  The relationship is generally not this simple, as sorted out in this PDF document, which also provides a short list of steps for preparing a strike-dip file for export.
