I. Objectives
- Determine, by mapping, the geometry of the Cretaceous/Precambrian unconformity north of Mason, TX.
- Construct a geologic map and measured section to document your findings.
II. When
- We depart at 7:00 AM from the east basement door and will be back on campus
Sunday before 4 PM.
III. Bring only the essentials:
- Two lunches
- Camping gear (can be
rented from
UT RecSports)
- sleeping bag
- sleeping pad
- + tent
- nothing else
- Compass, hand lens, hammer
- Clipboard, field book
- Ink pens (2), colored pencils, eraser, protractor, mech. pencil, white
out
- Water bottle, rain coat (?) and a few personal toiletry items.
Don't bring a cooler, folding chair or any other large
items. Space for personal gear is extremely limited. A
one-night overnight does not require much gear or extra clothing.
Dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday will be provided.
